October 2007

This has been a good week!

Katie and Kenny got engaged, and that’s pretty sweet.

Nobody in our family is sick anymore! Asher got some shots on Wed and is still recovering from that, but otherwise, we are faring well.

Bekah and Ben just heard their baby’s heartbeat for the first time, and my heart is so joyful for them!

On a personal note, my heart was really encouraged today. Sooz brought me a copy of the Above Rubies magazine. (www.aboverubies.org). It is such an encouraging thing to read about other mothers, how they put the Lord in the center of their lives. They give tips on how to function as stay at home moms while still keeping an active prayer life, which is something I admit to struggling with on a daily basis. The writers talk alot about the ‘natural’ style of mothering, which I am finding more and more appealing as I read and experience motherhood. I am becoming more attracted to the idea of organic food, natural childbirth, and even adopting! And not just because of the magazine, although it is surely contributing. It seems as though every person that writes in the magazine has at least 5 children, and many have more than 9! Yowzah! Their quivers are quite full, I’d say. Lord, bless’ em.

There is a stupid tummy bug going around this area, and I’m gull-darned sick of it! I can count on 2 hands the amount of people I know, just on this street, who have been puking from this bug. Lord, come and heal! Rowan had it, and Joel just got over it today. My brother-in-law and his whole family live 2 doors down, and they all just got over it too. They had it pretty bad, Lord bless ‘em.  I haven’t left my house in 3 days. Luckily, it’s a big house, or I’d probably have gone nuts. And Sooz is out of town!   She helps me stay sane in times like this :-)  Luckily though, this means that neither her nor the girls will get this dumb bug, in Jesus’ name!

Anyway, pray for protection and healing for people ’round here. And pray that me and Asher don’t get it! That’d stink.

On a better note, I think me and Joel are under a ‘clothing’ anointing! People keeping giving us clothes! It’s really wonderful. So if anyone needs clothing, just let us know and I’ll see what I can do.   Our most recent recepit of clothing involved all name brand stuff, and almost all of it actually fit me! Even when I go shopping, I can never find clothes that fit well. Definitely a kiss from the Lord. :-)
